Solo singing department

Musical education is a precondition for good quality work, therefore CS carries out educational programmes of vocal technique and solo singing, which enable an improvement and maintenance of the artistic quality level of the Concert choir.

The syllabus of solo singing includes: breathing technique, technical practice and solo singing literature according to the syllabus of Slovene music schools, with additional literature related to the programme of the department (concert, competition, etc.).

In 1997 the singers took part in an international solo singing competition for the first time. At the competition in San Francisco (Golden Gate) our representatives won the first prize in the category under 15 years of age and the third prize in the category under 12 years of age. At the international competition in Des Moines (Iowa) they were awarded the first prize in the category under 12 years of age and third prize in the category under 15 years of age.
